|Zoning Board of Appeals|
|(B) The Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Council, shall appoint five members to the Board of Appeals. The provisions of §§ 2-6-1-1 apply. Preferably, persons appointed to the Board should have a general knowledge of the Zoning Code; they should not be people likely to have conflicts of interest in cases coming before the Board.|
(C) Members should be appointed at least 90 days before their terms start in order to allow them time to study the duties of the Board.

|DUTIES; RESPONSIBILITIES; POWERS.|
(A) The power and authority to hear and decide appeals of decisions from the Zoning Hearing Examiner regarding special exceptions and appeals of decisions from the Hearing Officer regarding status established buildings as defined in the Comprehensive City Zoning Code. Such decisions shall be made in conformity with the criteria and process specified in the Zoning Code.
(B) The authority to advise the City Council, the EPC, and the Planning Director when cases before it lead the Board to conclude that amendment of the Zoning Code seems appropriate.
