Seasonal (Summer), Student and Temporary Positions

The City of Albuquerque has openings for seasonal (Summer), student and temporary positions in a variety of City Departments. These positions can be in support of recreation services provided by the City, general office work or manual labor. All positions require completion of a medical history form and possibly a physical exam. Positions in recreation require background checks and drug tests. A parental consent form is required for applicants under 18.

  • General recreation (often involves working with younger children)
  • Therapeutic recreation (involves working with special needs children)
  • Aquatics (Lifeguard, Headguard, Swimming Instructor, etc.)
  • Tennis (Tennis Instructor)
  • Office environment (generally clerical)
  • Would you like to work with your hands? (generally outdoors)
  • Summer Lunch Program (Note: Limited to 3 hours per day)
Federal law requires that you must be a U.S. citizen, a legal permanent resident, or an alien authorized by the United States Immigration Service to work in the U.S. You will be required to prove that you are legally allowed to work in the United States before being hired.
