Direct, manage, supervise, and coordinate assigned programs and activities within the Survey Section including City geodetic survey functions; coordinate assigned activities with other divisions and outside agencies and provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the City Surveyor.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in geodetic surveying or a related field, plus four (4) years of geodetic surveying experience to include two (2) years direct supervisory experience in a management and/or administrative capacity. Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis. Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Possession of a valid City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire into position. Possession of a valid Professional Land Surveyor license issued by the State of New Mexico within nine (9) months from date of hire into position.

Mathematics, probability and statistical analysis, including the least squares theory of data adjustment

Computer applications for surveying including computations, computer aided mapping and programming languages
Principles and practices of geodetic and photgrammetric surveying
Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations
Oversee and participate in the management of the Survey Division's operations, services and activities
Select, supervise, train and evaluate staff
Research, analyze, and evaluate new service delivery methods and techniques
Operate office equipment including computers
Communicate clearly and concisely
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
