Grade: C23 $11.30 step one (1). After successful completion of a six (6) month probationary period, $12.46 step two (2). Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY:
Facilitate the health and fitness of senior citizens; instruct group exercise classes; provide a broad range of physical education and recreation activities designed to enhance the quality of life of older adults and maintain records of senior participants.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED supplemented by college-level course work in recreation, fitness or a related field, plus two (2) years recreation or fitness experience. Experience working with seniors desirable. Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis. Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Position requires: Background check, TB Test.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:
Principles and practices of teaching group exercise classes
Methods and techniques of recreation and fitness
Plan, prepare and implement senior fitness routines
Coordinate and edit music and fitness routines
Perform C.P.R. and first aid if necessary
Operate office equipment including computers
Work independently in the absence of supervision
Communicate clearly and concisely
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
