Grade: B31 $11.52 step one (1). After successful completion of a six (6) month probationary period, $18.42 step two (2). Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform restoration procedures on all body parts of automotive vehicles including trucks, trolleys and buses; install glass, paint and perform a variety of other restoration activities and perform a variety of other related activities in support of the maintenance and restoration of City vehicles.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED, plus a two (2) year technical certificate or training in automotive repair or a related field plus two (2) years of vehicle restoration experience. Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis. Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
This is a safety sensitive position and requires a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and random drug/alcohol testing. Position requires: Background check, Pre-employment physical, CDL Physical, Shift work, Odd days off.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:
Principles and practices of vehicle body repair
Methods and techniques of vehicle painting
Principles and practices of upholstery replacement
Principles and practices of basic wood working
Principles and practices of plastic and metal welding procedures
Body restoration tools and equipment including hydraulic jacks, pulling devices and body filler
Perform a variety of restoration and repair on body of vehicles
Perform glass installation duties
Paint vehicles and refurbish interior
Operate tools and equipment used in vehicle restoration activities
Perform woodworking functions
Work independently in the absence of supervision
Understand and follow oral and written instructions
Communicate clearly and concisely
Perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
