POSITION SUMMARY: Support both the executive and legislative branches of government, manage, direct and perform independent audits in support of City departments and programs consistent with the provisions and requirements outlined in the Accountability in Government Ordinance and professional standards.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, auditing, business administration or a related field, plus eight (8) years of professional/managerial accounting and/or auditing experience to include a minimum of four (4) years auditing experience and five (5) years direct supervisory experience in a management and/or administrative capacity. Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Possession of a valid City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire. Possession of a valid Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor certificate. Possession of a Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified Fraud Examiner, and Certified Government Audit Professional is desirable.
