POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide a law enforcement presence at the Albuquerque International Sunport, in support of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) screening process. Enforce city and state laws to ensure the safety and security of the traveling public, local citizens, and employees working at the Albuquerque International Sunport. Deter acts aimed against the aviation industry by maintaining a visible presence in secure areas.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High school or GED required. Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid First Aid Certificate within six (6) months from date of hire. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid C.P.R. Certificate within six (6) months from date of hire. Possession of a valid Law Enforcement Certificate, New Mexico Certification preferred. If certified in a state other than New Mexico certification by waiver may qualify based on New Mexico Department of Public Safety standards.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
This is a safety sensitive position and requires a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and random drug/alcohol testing. Position requires: Background check, Fingerprint clearance, Pre-employment physical, TB Test, Shift work, Odd days off.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:
Airport laws and procedures with particular reference to apprehension and arrest policies
Principles and practices of firearm use
Pertinent Federal, State and local laws, codes and regulations
Understand, interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies and procedures
Prepare clear and concise reports
Analyze situations quickly and objectively to determine and take appropriate action
Respond to requests and inquiries from the general public
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities
