Scope
| This policy ensures a professional City of Albuquerque web presence that meets current conventions in government website management |
Policy | The City of Albuquerque shall work to make City websites comply with level 1 accessibility guidelines as set by the World Wide Web Consortium.
The City shall work with contractors to ensure that all work for and related to City websites complies with level 1 accessibility as set by the World Wide Web Consortium. |
Rationale | The City of Albuquerque wishes to provide information and services that are accessible to as many people as possible.
Federal websites are required to comply with even more stringent accessibility guidelines, commonly known as Section 508 Compliance. (More information on section 508 here: http://www.section508.gov/)
