Scope
| This policy ensures a professional City of Albuquerque web presence that meets current conventions in government website management |
Policy | The user must be notified when they leave City of Albuquerque websites.
The City of Albuquerque provides links to the following types of organizations:
- other governmental units & educational institutions
- other federal, state, and local governmental units that provide additional services and information that users of Albuquerque's site may find of interest.
- educational institutions including K-12 school districts, community colleges, and universities
- private organizations if these organizations offer services that complement the information or services offered by the City of Albuquerque. The determination of whether to establish links to a private organization's website is made on a case-by-case basis.
- non-profit organizations if these organizations offer services that complement the information or services offered by the City of Albuquerque. The determination of whether to establish links to non-profit organizations is made on a case-by-case basis.
|
Rationale | Regarding external link notification: This is a legal requirement, brought up first by the City's bond attorneys, who were concerned about potential investor decisions regarding City vs. non-City content.
