Scope
| City-wide Telephone Network connected through Siemens Hub locations at City Hall, Pino Yards and the Rio Grande Zoo sites. |
Standard
| Any equipment used to connect remote City locations to the Main City Hall Telecommunications Network Hub must be able to fully integrate directly with Siemens HiCom 300 Mod 80EX or Mod 30EX Release 6.4 to 6.6, Siemens Hicom 150E, Siemens HiPath 4000, or Siemens Optipoint 500. |
Rationale | The cost for operating remote City telecom systems can be significantly reduced through enabling T-1 ISDN-PRI or IP connections to the Central Siemens PBX switch at City Hall. These connections can, in many instances, be made over existing data T-1 lines currently terminated at the remote site, eliminating the need for individual analog telephone lines at many remote sites.
The equipment used to connect a remote site and enable remote IP or legacy telephone services must be compatible at a minimum with the existing host Siemens Hicom 300 switches to ensure full feature and service functionality, network traffic distribution flexibility, and cost and inventory controls. |
